Rick has over 32 years of appraisal, banking experience, and mortgage banking experience.  He is a member of Member of the Appraisal Institute (SRA Designation), and is a Certified General Appraiser in Washington State.  Since 2001, Rick has been providing real estate lending review and other real estate-related consultation services to northwest financial institutions. 

Prior to providing real estate consultation services to financial institutions, Rick was the Real Estate Division Manager at Columbia Bank in Tacoma, Washington.

Rick is a frequent speaker at seminars and schools relating to real estate lending and appraisals.  Some of which include:  

• College courses at Tacoma Community College and Clover Park Community College on: Appraisal (commercial and residential), Real Estate Finance, and Mortgage Lending
• Courses for the Financial Institute of Education and the American Bankers Association in real estate lending, appraisal (residential and commercial), loan servicing, and real estate finance.
• Provided in-house training sessions for financial institutions covering the subjects of appraisals, real estate lending, and general mortgage banking topics.
• A guest speaker at examiner training sessions for the FDIC on appraisals, appraisers, and the related federal regulatory issues dealing.

Rick has extensive lending experience with respect to the real estate solicitation, underwriting, presentation, and approval of a variety of both commercial and residential projects.  He frequently performs appraisal reviews, loan examinations, assists with portfolio management, construction inspections, technical writing for bank policies and procedures, feasibility studies, loan underwriting, and performs brokerage services for commercial real estate projects.  

Rick is a 1969 graduate of the University of Washington.
